Tim Urban – Keynote Lecture

Creator of Wait But Why and the most watched TED Talk of 2016 will discuss the future of sexual medicine at the 2018 World Meeting in Lisbon

We are pleased to announce that Tim Urban, creator of the popular long-form, stick figure-illustrated blog Wait But Why and owner of the most watched TED Talk of 2016, will keynote our joint World Meeting on Sexual Medicine in Lisbon on Thursday, March 1 at 5:30 pm local time. Tim’s lecture will precede opening ceremonies in Auditorium I and is open to all registered World Meeting attendees.

Since he started writing Wait But Why in 2013, Tim has become one of the Internet’s most popular writers and a TED Annual Conference speaker. Wait But Why has topped 10 million unique visitors during peak months and attracted thousands of patrons, including famous fans such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, TED Curator Chris Anderson and Twitter co-founder Evan Williams. Tim notably collaborated with Musk on a 6-month series, The Road to Superintelligence, focused on the long-term impact of artificial intelligence and the future of humanity in a superhuman world.

From the most-watched TED talk of 2016 and the only TED main stage talk to reach 10 million in its first year, Tim Urban is redefining the live-speaking experience for the digital era. With head-spinning thinking, quirky graphics and his signature stick figures, he’s proving that complex and long-form thinking can capture and captivate a short attention span world.

Known for delighting audiences with smart, fascinating and truly original content, Tim synthesizes complex concepts and presents them in a humorous, highly entertaining and memorable way. Follow his spellbinding train of thought to ignite your own insights and energize your thinking.

We are thrilled to have a speaker of Tim’s caliber provide his unique perspective on the future of sexual medicine.
